Influence of cationic composition of ferrocuprate YBaCuFeO5 on its properties. pp. 5--9.

Summary: The influence of copper and iron cation deficiency as well as of partial substitution of copper by iron and of iron by copper in the structure of YBaCuFeO5 on unit cell parameters and electrical conductivity of the phases formed was studied. It was found that YBaCuFeO5 structure did not change at formation up to 5% of vacancies in the copper or iron sublattices or substitution less than 5% of copper by iron et vice versa. Electrical conductivity of the samples decreased with vacancies formation in the copper/iron sublattice and increased with increasing Cu/Fe ratio in the YBaCu1+xFe1-xO5-x/2 solid solutions.

Preparation of carbon adsorbents on the basis of different organic carbon-formers. pp. 14--17.

Summary: Adsorption-structural properties of carbon-mineral and carbon adsorbents obtained the basis of organic carbon-formers: starch, potato and wheat flour and mineral pore-formers - metal hydroxides have been studied. The dependence of structural parameters of the adsorbents obtained on element compositions of carbon-former has been studied. Small-porous adsorbents with high sorption capacity and specific surface were obtained after washing the carbon-mineral samples with acid solutions. Possiblep mechanism of the processes taking place during sample preparation has been discussed, and the factors promote the development of porous structure have been summarized.

Influence of solvent nature, background electrolyte and liquid phase pH on proline extraction by a liquid sulfoextractant. pp. 22--24.

Summary: The influence of solvent nature and background electrolyte on proline (Pro) extraction by liquid sulfoextractant HD solutions in water-unmixable solvents in a wide range of pH has been investigated. It was shown that maximal extraction of proline is observed at pH » 2 that corresponds to approximately equal content of the cationic and zwitter-ionic forms of Pro. It was found that solvent polarity strongly influence the degree of extraction. The moisture absorption by extracted complexes (H+-Pro+-Na+)D- in octane and in a mixed polar solvent has been determined. It was shown that even small additives of polar solvent considerably reduce the degree of Pro extraction by the liquid sulfoextractant, The presence of background electrolyte in the extraction systems also reduces the degree of extraction.

Forecasting the enthalpy of vaporization of polyfunctional organic substances. pp. 25--28.

Summary: The possibility of forecasting the enthalpy of vaporization of multifunctional organic liquids using additive methods of calculation of physical and chemical properties based on classification of atoms in the molecules by type and the procedure of artificial neural networks has been investigated. It was shown that the method of artificial neural network somewhat better than classical additive procedure in calculation of the enthalpy of vaporization. The average deviations of the results of additive calculations from experimental data for a training random sample and for a control group of substances are 13% and 20% accordingly, the same for artificial neural network are 5% and 14%.

Influence of copper on polyethylene oxidation inhibited by a phenolic antioxidant. pp. 29--33.

Summary: The reason of accelerated consumption of a phenolic antioxidant and reduced inhibition period in polyethylene oxidation in the contact with copper has been studied. It was found that the contact with copper accelerates oxidation of polyethylene inhibited by the phenolic antioxidant by transferring copper-containing compounds, products of contact reactions, into the volume of polymer. The transfer begins before the inhibition period ends and intensive accumulation of carbonyl-containing products in the polymer starts.

Thermodynamic parameters of real systems of nonelectrolytes. pp. 34--43.

Summary: Thermodynamic analysis the Lewis activity coefficient y and the Bjerrum--Guggenheim osmotic factor f has been carried out and basic difference between them has been discussed. A statistical interpretation of potential energy included into exponential expressions for activity a and g for isochor-isothermal and isobar-isothermal processes in a real system has been made. For real (associated) systems (gases, solutions) of nonelectrolytes and methods of their investigation, precise differentiation of basic characteristics is given, such as aggregation number nm = (m1-m10)/mn and degree of aggregation am = l - m10/m1 (an index "m" -- average mass value) for methods sensitive to the nature (size) of particles (for example, light dispersion); number of association n = m1/mas = m1/(m10 + mn) and degree of association aas = 1 - mas/m1 for colligative properties investigation methods for systems sensitive only to the number of particles (for example, osmometry), where m1 -concentration (number) of monomers included and not included into in the aggregates of mn particles; m10 -- concentration of free monomers, mas = m1 + mn -- concentration of associates. New expression for a thermodynamic correction into the Henry, Raoult, van't Hoff, van der Waals and Gibbs equations -- the associative multiplier AM la = l - aas has been proposed for nonelectrolyte real systems over the range of concentration where the systems deviate from ideality.

Titanium dioxide composite photocatalysts with controlled density. pp. 44--47.

Summary: Novel composite photocatalysts based on hollow glassy microspheres, silicon dioxide, aluminum or calcium phosphate and titanium dioxide have been elaborated. The composites with microspheres content of 9.4--12.8% possess maximum photo-catalytical activity, higher than that of a commercial photocatalyst Hombikat UV100. Applying hollow microspheres allowed us to create photocatalysts with optimal particle density providing their uniform distribution through the volume of photocata-lytic reactors.

Ferrocenylmethyl derivatives of aminoacids. pp. 48--51.

Summary: By interaction of methyl esters of methionine, histidine or serine with ferrocenyl aldehyde the corresponding azomethynes (C5H5)Fe(C5H4CH = N-CHR-COOCH3) were obtained. Reduction of the azomethynes with NaBH4 led to formation of the corresponding ferrocenylmethyl derivatives (C5H5)Fe(C5H4CH2-NH-CHR-COOCH3), where R = CH3SCH2CH2, C3H3N2CH2, HOCH2. After hydrolysis of ferrocenyhnethyl derivatives by means of sodium hydroxide followed by the treatment of reactions mixtures with acetic acid N-substituted amino acids (C5H5)Fe(C5H4CH2-NH-CHR-COOH) were obtained.

Summary: It has been shown that acylation of 3-(2-arylvmyl)-5-hydroxy-5-phenyl-1-tosyl-2-pyrazolines proceeds through linear tautomes and is accompanied by recyclization and dehydration. These processes lead to the formation of 3-(2-arylvinyl)-4-benzoyl-5-methyl-1-tosyl-1H-pyrazoles.

Interaction study in systems on the basis of polymers and surface active substances in saline media. pp. 73--78.

Summary: Interaction processes between cationic and anionic polyelectrolytes as well as non-ionic polymers and ionogenic surfactants in saline media were studied. By means of viscosity and surface tension measurements of polymer-surfactant systems it was shown that interaction between the components in saline media leads to a decrease of solution viscosity and increase of its surface activity. The obtained results can be used in potassium chloride granulation process in order to improve wetting of fine hydrophobic potassium chloride particles.
