The Department of Medical Sciences was created in 1995. It develops and coordinates the scientific investigations on the enlightenment of the mechanisms of physiological functions self-regulation, the development of theoretical basis for management of compensatory-recombinatory processes, finding-out the peculiarities of modern ecosystems factors and way of life action on physiological status and health of the human, the development of medical-biological problems connected with consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
The Department of Medical Sciences unites 2 scientific institutes, research and production center, and production enterprise whose personnel includes about 330 researchers, technicians and attendants. There are 11 Academicians, 14 Corresponding Members, 201 researchers, 14 Doctors of Sciences (Prof.) and 64 Candidates of Sciences (Ph.D.) among them.
