Summary: It has been underlined that the Belarusian model of the social and economic development of society bases both on peculiarities, traditions, mentality of Belarusian people and their psychology and national character. First of all Belarusian development model is the socially oriented and innovative society recovery. The increasing role and the place of humanities in the formation of Belarusian model of the social and economic development have been grounded in the article.

Philosophical fundamentals of the national culture identity in the globalization era. pp. 22-27
Summary: It is shown in the article that in the conditions of the contemporary globalization processes the foundations of a national and cultural identity are transformed essentially, the transformation concerns those components of the foundations which are either "cut off or, due to some reasons, alienated from the historical roots and traditions. In this sense, the historical and philosophical component of the national identity foundations is the most stable and invariant one with respect to the modern forms of development and assimilation of mass culture. The same stability is demonstrated by those types of individual and public consciousness which are connected with the sources of national culture, with construction on this basis of senses and artifacts of activity, having exceptional originality and distinctiveness.

Summary: Two stages of the Christian ethic and anthropology in the medieval Belarus have been investigated in the article. Ethic ideas of such Belarusian Christian enlighteners as Efrosinya Polotskaya and Kirill Turovskiy have been revealed by the author.

Integration processes as the most important factor of the Belarusian state development. pp. 36-43
Summary: The article deals with problems concerning to the integration processes of Belarus and Russia. Attention has been paid to the constitutional foundation existing in our country for development of closer relationship with Russia. The system of legislation adopted in the Union State or would be adopted on the base of the future Constitutional Act has been analyzed too.

About some aspects of the problem of law essence. pp. 44-52
Summary: Under modern conditions law appears as the most important social regulator. The researches of nature and content of legal requirements, principles of law, main provision of law doctrine, give possibilities for deeper understanding the essence of law, open its meaning under modern social conditions. Social development needs settle contradictions and conflicts between people and social groups, consolidate the social communication. The discussed process couldn't be realized without law, which plays here the important role mainly due to the such essential characteristics of law as fair. Nowadays we propose to understand law as a freedom degree, which have to provide the fair order of functioning of social relationships, solve main values and priorities of the society on the certain stage of civilization, which recognized and guaranteed by authority and embodied in the system of the universal and obligatory principles and norms.

ECONOMICS

Improvement of the institutionalism model in the Republic of Belarus. pp. 53-60
Summary: The problem of the state regulation efficiency increasing in the Belarusian model of the institutionalism regarding to the principle of allocative efficiency which is the fullest satisfaction of society members needs at the given level of resources has been investigated in the article. It is shown that in the system of institutionalism the efficiency has been estimated on the basis of governmental bodies work quality. It resulted to the distortion of the management information and lowering of the state regulation quality. Therefore in the dominant institutionalism model the estimation of it's efficiency should be carried out in mind of the allocative efficiency and social stability in the society.

Summary: Current article is devoted to the analysis of the American scholar Paul Saenger's research "Silent reading: its impact on the late medieval script and society". The author of current article makes the conclusion that Paul Saenger's research gives the opportunity to enrich the problematics and methods of study the written culture formation in the territory of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.

Occupation regime in the territory of Belarus during the Great Patriotic War in works of home researchers (1991-2007). pp. 66-72
Summary: In the article the works of modern home historians have been analyzed. Concerned works are devoted to the occupation policy of German powers in the temporally occupied territory of Belarus. It has been stressed in the article that the characteristic feature of that period was the development of new trends in the investigation of the problem, detailed interpretation of various aspects of the occupation regime, which have been compactly examined in the Soviet historiography. Among the not enough investigated topics the author singles out the history of separate concentration camps, the Jewish population genocide, forced labor of the citizens of the Belarusian Republic, the questions of organized by the occupation regime medical service and school education. Some problems requiring further scientific development have been singled out. The author expresses his own opinion on the concerned problems.

ART STUDIES, ETHNOGRAPHY, FOLKLORE

Art, ethnology and folklore studies in the national culture development. pp. 73-79
Summary: The author has investigated the role and importance for national cultural development of fundamental research carried out by the Institute of Art, Ethnography and Folklore named after Kondrat Krapiva of the Belarusian National Academy of Sciences. The issue is especially actual because of the impact of globalization and the growing uniformity of mass culture. The technological, intellectual and creative development of the modern architecture has been shown in the research. The author has described it as a system of concepts, as a text and a field of emotional associations. Modern architecture has been presented here as a combination of design and form, space, color and light. Also the best examples of modern Belarusian architecture have been described.

Summary: The survey of investigations in the field of Belarusian etnology of the beginning of XXI century has been given in the article. Scientific problems solving by Belarusian ethnologists have been analyzed. Music in the modern dramatic theatre. pp. 86-92
Summary: Music was an integral part of the theatre performance during the many centuries. Its role has been acquired a special significance with every stage of the development of the theatre. Music has been found the new existence in the theatre. Now it is a power which helps to create "artistic integrity" and to establish new complex relations of dramatic heroes with the world outside. Music is a fundamentally important phenomenon in the modern theatre dramatic performance. Recently created performances of mixed genres allow us to make a conclusion that theatres are trying to enrich and think over its traditional essence. Musical theatres seek after the classical heritage and expressive means of the dramatic theatre. Dramatic theatres are striving after musical ones. Consequently there is a need in a new genre of the theatre art.

Byron and Byronism traditions in the Belarusian literature of the XXth century. pp. 102-106
Summary: Conceptualization of G. G. Byron's works is intimately connected with the scope of his personality and the phenomenon of Byronism. Byronism is a socio-cultural phenomenon. At the same time it turns out to be an outlook characteristic and a peculiarity of the author's world perception. Belarusian culture couldn't but cognize the oeuvre of George Gordon Byron - the writer of the universal importance. It is not only his free original poetry contributed to it but also the very figure of him as the representative of the late romantic European Renaissance. The contagion of Byronism in Belarus and the Slavic world has peculiarities. The quantity and quality analysis shows the tendency: receptions of G. G. Byron increase or decline according to the historical situation. The quality characteristics and the objects of the translations change as well.

LINGUISTICS

Belarusian national language at the present stage: the system, status and functioning of it. pp. 107-117
Summary: In the article the main subsystems of the modern national Belarusian language characteristics of "pure" and "mixed" types of Belarusian speech existing in the Belarusian society have been considered. The law status of the Belarusian language and its real state in the society have been compared. Its role as a means of communication and presentation of the Belarusian cultural space, means and symbol of national identity and self-identity have been analysed.

Summary: Such Belarusian chronicles wrote by latin graphic as "Origo Regis", Olshevskaya chronicle, Chronicle of Bykhovetz have been considered in the article. Wrote on the Polish Vitebskaya (by M. Pantzirny and G. Averka) and Mogilevskaya (by T. Surta and Trubnitzkie) chronicles have been analyzed, too.
