Stress-strain state of a disk--cylinder active system in conditions of contact interaction and bending of the cylinder. pp. 29--34.
Summary: Fields of stresses and strains in a disk--cylinder active system is observed. Stress state was obtained by superposing the field of stresses conditioned by action of normal and tangential elliptically distributed contact forces and by non-contact bending of the cylinder. A significant change of the stress-strain state in comparison with the solution for the pure contact problem is shown.

A methodology for assignment of optimal parameters of cutting mode. pp. 35--43.
Summary: The analysis of methods to assign optimal parameters of cutting rates when machining workpieces in metal cutting machine-tools is made. It has been found that to get maximal cutting capabilities it is necessary to provide simultaneously the full capacity of the machine tool and the full application of the cutting tool by durability. This can be achieved by solving a mathematical model including the equations of the main motion drive power of a machine tool and the durability (acceptable cutting speed) of a cutting tool. The method suggested differs from the well-known method of M. Kronenberg in the fact that the feed and the depth of cut are independent variables and the application of a cutting tool means the provision of a given period of durability.

Calculation of potato digger vibration for small contour fields. pp. 58--66.
Summary: A design method of vibration of screen type potato diggers for small contour fields is proposed. Elastic system of the potato digger is described as a three--mass dynamic system having eight degrees of freedom in vertical, horizontal and angular generalized coordinates. Inertial interactions with their initial phases applied to digging module of the potato digger are assumed as force excitation of mass oscillation in dynamic system. As a result calculated levels of vibration in normalized parts are determined for the potato diggers of two alternative designs, having wishbone or elastic suspension of screen.

Experimental research of process of dry clearing of potato. pp. 67--72.
Summary: A stand for research of a machine for dry clearing of potato is developed and made. Obtained experimental dependencies of specific power consumption of the process, its productivity, efficiency of potato clearing and damageability of tubers on parameters of the machine regimes and construction clearly demonstrate the expediency of use of the developed construction of a machine for dry clearing of potato.

Investigation of electric arc in twin plasma torch with forced convective heat transfer in arc column. pp. 77--83.
Summary: The experimental investigation of electric arc was carried out for d.c. twin plasma torch with tube single chamber electrode assemblies at operation with air. Operating modes are varied as follows: arc current I = 105 -- 550 A, arc voltage U = 400 -- 1320 V, plasma gas (air) flow rate summarized on electrodes G = (0.76 -- 7.18)10-3 kg/s, interelectrode (between anode and cathode assemblies) degree a = 45 – 620, distance between axises of the electrode assemblies at outlet from their nozzles c = 0.07 -- 0.14 m, pressure at plasma torch outlet p ~ 0.1 MPa. Analytical model of electric arc was developed for twin torch which is operated with forced convection mode of arc column. Comparison with experimental data is fulfilled. New theoretical expression to describe arc current--voltage characteristics in generalized form which corrected for experimental results was obtained.

Estimation of hydrogen additions influence on ecological indicators of an internal combustion engine applying methods of mathematical planning. pp. 84--89.
Summary: A planning technique and a results processing algorithm of the multifactorial experiment when investigating working procedure of internal combustion engine, are unfolded. Efficiency of the system analysis concerning the investigated factors influence on toxicity of the engine combustion products when applying the experiment planning theory, is proved. The models, which approximate combustion products composition (CO, CO2, O2, CHx and NO) depending on the bent shaft speed, the oxidant excess coefficient and the degree of hydrogen addition to mixtures, are obtained. The relations, which enable to achieve the ratio of variable parameters which provides a zero emission level of harmful products, are deduced.

Algorithms of hypertext creation based on situational--syntagmatic network. pp. 90--95.
Summary: Algorithms of hypertext creation are offered, i.e. the partition of text documents on monothematic fragments and establishments of situational relations between them. The process of constructing a hypertext consists of four main phases: identification of informative words and sentences in the source text, the construction of super--phrasal unities for each informative sentence, the partition of the text on monothematic fragments consisting of one or more super-phrasal unities, creating the hyperlinks between monothematic fragments. Besides traditional lexical, morphological and syntactic features used in the formation of monothematic fragments of hypertext the algorithms are based on the use of special knowledge base as a situational--syntagmatic network.
