The effect of copper and iron heterovalent substitution on properties of LaBaCuFeO5+d. pp. 5--8
Summary: The effect of copper (iron) substitution on the structure, thermo- and electrophysical properties of the layered lanthanum-barium ferrocuprate has been studied. It has been found that substitution in the B-sublattice of LaBaCuFeO5+d led to the increasing of thermal expansion coefficient and charge transport activation energy in the --(Cu,Fe)O2-- layers of the lanthanum-barium ferrocuprate. Electrical conductivity of the samples increased with trivalent copper content increase.

Colloidal properties of some cationic surfactant mixtures. pp. 16--20
Summary: The behavior of cationic surfactant mixtures based on alkylimidazopolyamine, alkylamidopolyamine and oxyethylized alkylamidopolyamine was studied. The comparison of behavior of cationic surfactant mixtures makes clear that interaction parameters for solutions of surfactant are negatives, this indicates the presence of strong attraction between surfactants of mixture in mixed micelles and adsorption layers at solution/air interface. The synergistic effects in solutions of surfactants were found at micellization. It is shown, that the presence of interaction between surfactant-components in mixed micelles depends on chemical structure of surfactants, character of hydrophilic groups and steric factor connected with packing of molecules in mixed micelles.

The effect of initial salt solution concentration on the structure of synthesized hydroxides. pp. 21--24
Summary: Sorption of aluminium, magnesium and iron (III) hydroxides prepared from solutions of different concentrations has been studied. It has been shown that sorption capacity and specific surface of samples increase with initial salt solution concentration. Reasons for the change of the sample structure parameters have been considered in terms of change of colloidal particle characteristics, depending on their form and concentration. It has been found that hydroxides obtained from more concentrated solution are more dispersed and have quite loose structure providing greater sorption capacity of the synthesized sample.

Phosphorus-containing water-organic preparation for cellulose modification. pp. 42--46
Summary: Method for preparation of cellulose esters using phosphoric acid in presence of vinyl acetate dispersion containing 2.5--5.4% wt. of phosphorus and having ion-exchange capasity up to 2.5 mg-eg/mol, has been developed. Esterification products have been studied by chemical, IR and radiographic methods of analysis. It has been shown that thermal decomposition of modified materials proceeds slower, with less intensity, and begins at the temperature lower by 100°C, while the carbon residue yield increases 2.5 times (at 500°C), as compared to initial cellulose. It has been demonstrated that treatment of cellulose containing materials with esterifying composition produces fire-retardant fabrics with high strength characteristics.

Summary: Chemical enzymatic method for the preparation of (2'-5')-oligoadenylates using the filtrate of culture liquor of the mycelial fungus Spicaria violacea has been elaborated. The method consists in the enzymatic hydrolysis of (3'-5')-phosphodiester bonds and end phosphate groups of the chemically prepared polyadenylates with randomly distributed (2'-5')- and (3'-5')-bonds by fungal culture liquor containing (3'-5')-specific nuclease and phosphatase.

The effect of reaction medium composition upon cytochrome c reduction degree by quercetin. pp. 70--75
Summary: Cytochrome c is a protein that can be used for quantitative determination of electron-donating ability of various compounds. The experimental conditions such as pH, ionic strength and the presence of low-molecular compounds could strongly affect the analysis precision. In this work, reduction of cytochrome c by quercetin under varied conditions has been studied. It was found that electron-donating ability of quercetin strongly depends on pH. On the contrary, changing the solution ionic strength does not affect the electron transfer reaction. The presence of some low-molecular compounds inhibits the redox reaction either by competition for redox equivalents or by blocking the electroactive sites on the surface of the protein. Based on results obtained, the optimal conditions for determination of polyphenolic compounds' electron-donating ability by cytochrome c have been proposed.

Uranium and radium content in the soil solutions of the south-western part of Belarus. pp. 90--97
Summary: The contents of uranium and radium in the pore soil solutions, which are the main chain in the geochemical and biological migration of the chemical elements, has been determined for the first time in Belarus. The control sites have been located outside the zone of Chernobyl fallout radionuclide contamination, that allowed evaluating the current background level of uranium and radium content in the soil solutions. The data on accumulation of the radioactive elements in the pore solutions give the opportunity to estimate the reserve of the radioactive elements in the migratory active forms in the soils. In the majority of soils studied, uranium content in the pore solution is higher than radium content, that points to the higher migratory ability of uranium. The direct correlation between content of fulvic acids' components in the soil solutions and accumulation of uranium in such solutions has been established.
