Delegation of US Congress House of Representatives to visit NAS of Belarus
On August 3, 2015 the delegation of the US Congress House of Representatives will visit NAS of Belarus. The goal of the visit is holding negotiations with the leaders of NAS of Belarus on perspective areas and mechanisms of Belarusian and American cooperation in the aerospace sector and in energy conservation.
It is expected that the members of the delegation will attend the permanent exhibition “Achievements of national science applied for production” as well as hold negotiations with the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Meeting with Sergei Rakhmanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Japan held at NAS of Belarus
On July 30, 2015 a meeting with Sergei Rakhmanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in Japan, was held at NAS of Belarus. The event involved the managers of the NASB organizations as well as the representatives of Belarusian ministries, agencies and industrial enterprises. During the meeting Sergei Rakhmanov made a report on development of business relations between Belarus and Japan stressing the rising interest of Japanese businessmen towards investing in and furthering collaboration with Belarusian businesses. Over the last years in the light of closer cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union the Japanese partners have shown greater interest in the experience and practices of Belarusian scientists and manufacturers. The report also states that the exports of Belarusian services in the field of sciences and education saw a 2.7-fold increase from 2011 to 2014.
“These facts indicate positive changes in the bilateral business relations, which must be used more actively”, Chief Scientific Secretary Alexander Kilchevsky underlined.
NASB Institute of Physical and Organic Chemistry entered into the National Recognition Board
On Jule 1, 2015 Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree “On entering the winners of the 2014 Contest into the National Recognition Board”. In accordance with the decree 62 candidacies were recognized as winners and entered into the National Recognition Board. Those had been selected by the Government, among them 51 being recognized for the highest results in the field of social and economic development and 11 for their high results in resource conservation. The Institute of Physical and Organic Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences Belarus was entered into the National Board among the research and development organizations.
