On 7 September 2019 (Saturday), from 12:00 till 6:00 p.m., the 2nd Festival of Science 2019 will be held in the Central Botanical Garden of the NAS of Belarus. The event is organized by the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. It aims at increasing the prestige of science in society, popularizing the achievements of Belarusian scientists and world science, as well as attracting pupils and students to engage in research activities.
The Festival Program provides many zones, divided geographically and in purpose, designed for visitors of various ages and interests. Lecture spaces and an entertainment area will present different lectures, master classes, quizzes, exhibitions of science museums and popular science projects. One will find such thematical platforms as “Robots and Technologies”, “Universities” (a platform where higher education institutions will present themselves and the specialties in which the students are being trained), “Food Science” (food outlets and events dedicated to issues of healthy food and novelties of food industry), a playground for preschool children. Visitors of the Festival will have an opportunity to get acquainted with an exhibition of startups and several exhibitions of developments of the NASB scientists.
For reference: for the first time, the Festival of Science was held in 2018, and it had the format of an urban open-air picnic. Over 7000 people attended the event. Many Academic institutes, universities, scientific and educational projects, science museums, as well as centers for children's creativity and robotics clubs were represented at the Festival. The Festival had areas for popular science lectures, an outer space zone, an entertainment area, a science show area, a robotics area, a children's area, a scientific exhibition, and an archaeological site.

For the period of the event, a special price for admission to the Botanical Garden is 5 rubles for all categories of citizens. The entrance for children under 12 years old is free.
