The National Academy of Sciences of Belarus proceeds from the necessity to increase the role and responsibility of young scientists for science policy forming, developing the Academy's scientific potential, overcoming the negative tendencies in age structure of scientific staff and realizing real integration of science and education.
To solve these tasks, the councils of young scientific are created in the Academy and its scientific organizations. Their main purposes are: to promote professional growth of young scientists and its active participation in fundamental and applied research; to participate in solving the questions concerning social security of youth and its housing problems; to present the interests of scientific youth in the NASB Presidium and its Bureau, General Meeting of NAS of Belarus, other Academy governing bodies, and also in state bodies, non-governmental organizations and mass media; to promote the edition of materials of conferences, schools and seminars of young scientists, other scientific and popular scientific works of the young scientists; to develop the international scientific and cultural relations with participation of the young scientists, etc.
The Council of Young Scientists of NAS of Belarus is a permanent public body working at NASB Presidium. This council heads system of councils of young scientists in the Academy and coordinates their activities.
